Singapore maintains strict biosecurity controls as a
rabies-free country for over 50 years, with
comprehensive import procedures for pets from
Hong Kong.
As Hong Kong is classified under Schedule II
(countries/regions with controlled rabies risk), pets
benefit from streamlined import requirements with
no mandatory quarantine period for most situations.
However, pets must still meet comprehensive
vaccination and health testing requirements overseen
by Singapore's authority.

based on rabies risk since July 1, 2024:
Schedule I: Countries/regions with negligible rabies risk
Schedule II: Countries/regions with controlled rabies
risk (includes Hong Kong SAR)

4. Age Requirements
Pet must be at least 12 weeks of age at time of export
5. Rabies Neutralising Antibody Titre Test (RNATT)
Mandatory blood test for Schedule II countries/regions
including Hong Kong
Test must be conducted before travel and within 12 months
prior to export

Prohibited Breeds
Dogs:
American Pit Bull Terrier
Argentine Dog (Dogo Argentino)
Brazilian Fila (Fila Brasileiro)
Japanese Tosa
Perro de Presa Canario
Any cross-breeds or dogs with physical characteristics of these breeds are also banned. Attempting to import a
restricted breed may result in seizure, compulsory quarantine, or refusal of entry.
Cats (Prohibits the import of certain Cat × Wild Felis hybrids):
Bengal cats ( Prionailurus bengalensis × Felis catus ) must be at least 5th generation removed from the wild
ancestor; any 4th generation or lower cross is banned.
Savannah cats ( Leptailurus serval × Felis catus ) must likewise be a minimum of 5th generation; crosses of 4th
generation or below are not permitted.
All other domestic cat breeds and their crosses are allowed once they meet Schedule II health, vaccination,
microchip, and permit requirements.Quarantine Process

Pet must arrive within 5 days of owner's arrival in Singapore
10-Day Home Quarantine Required When:
Pet arrives more than 5 days after owner's arrival in Singapore
Pet ownership is less than 6 months (adopted, rescued, or purchased
animals)
Commercial imports require 10-day quarantine at Home Quarantine
